I Refuse To Live In Fear
In a sea that’s raging I am calm I refuse to live in fear. I simply can not do it 
anymore. It’s taking up all my energy to do so. Energy that I could spend with friends, family, loved ones, spouses, children, co-workers, neighbours, the world at large.I refuse to live in fear, at a time when our society is closing down, when many of us have a wait and see attitude about what is coming next? What’s down the line, as I sit day in and day out and watch the society slowly shutting down, I realise that I can no longer do this, and I say I refuse to live in fear.
It’s my awareness statement, it’s my empowerment statement, and it’s my way of exposing some of the things that are happening in this world, by refusing to live in fear, I am making a peaceful stance to push back some of the things that have brought many of us to this place of fear, and I say that I can no longer do this. Therefore I refuse to live in fear. I hope that anyone else that refuses to live in fear will join me in this sentement. It’s about staying open and not shutting down internally. Only when we shut down internally can we truly become imprisoned, and
I refuse to live in fear. This is about taking one small measure from the mountain of fear that has overshadowed and drowned the lives of so many people over the last decade or more. I can’t do it anymore and so I say, I refuse to live in fear. I ask that you will live it with me.

A seven-year-old girl was deliberately starved to death while being kept as a prisoner in her own home by her mother and partner, a court heard today.
Birmingham Crown Court was told that Khyra Ishaq died from an infection after being starved over a period of weeks or possibly even months.

Race-hate Britons seeking asylum in U.S.

Two Britons seeking asylum in the United States after being convicted of hate speech crimes in the UK will be deported after nearly a year in U.S. custody.
Stephen Whittle, 42, and Simon Sheppard, 52, of Selby, fled in July 2008 after being convicted of publishing hate speech against Jews and other groups on their website.
Whittle had been facing up to two years in jail; Sheppard, five. U.S. officials would not say when they will be returned to the UK.

Death from suicide or sex act?

David Carradine may have died accidentally from suffocation or heart failure during an auto-erotic sex act, according to Thai police.
The Kung Fu and Kill Bill star was found with a noose around his neck and another rope around his genitals in a wardrobe in his hotel room in Bangkok.
Police commander Lieutenant General Worapong Siewpreecha said it was unclear whether the 72-year-old killed himself or died from suffocation or heart failure due to ejaculation.

A mob of furious neighbors of an 11-year-old girl raped on her way to school in Philadelphia won’t be charged for beating a man wanted for questioning in the case.
Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said Thursday that no charges will be filed against the group of about a dozen residents of the city’s West Kensington section who attacked 26-year-old Jose Carrasquillo.
Carrasquillo hasn’t been charged with rape but was arrested on an unrelated warrant. Ramsey said investigators have forensic evidence and witness identification placing him at the scene of Monday’s attack.

Returning to the land where he’d lived for 36 years, Campbell prepared himself for the empty closets, the looted farmhouse.

Abu Ghraib abuse photos show rape
Photographs of alleged prisoner abuse which Barack Obama is attempting to censor include images of apparent rape and sexual abuse, it has emerged.
At least one picture shows an American soldier apparently raping a female prisoner while another is said to show a male translator raping a male detainee.
Further photographs are said to depict sexual assaults on prisoners with objects including a truncheon, wire and a phosphorescent tube.
Another apparently shows a female prisoner having her clothing forcibly removed to expose her breasts.

LOCKPORT — It is legally permissible for police to zap a suspect with a Taser to obtain a DNA sample, as long as it’s not done “maliciously, or to an excessive extent, or with resulting injury,” a county judge has ruled in the first case of its kind in New York State, and possibly the nation.
Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza decided that the DNA sample obtained Sept. 29 from Ryan S. Smith of Niagara Falls — which ties him to a shooting and a gas station robbery— is legally valid and can be used at his trial.
Smith was handcuffed and sitting on the floor of Niagara Falls Police Headquarters when he was zapped with the 50,000- volt electronic stun gun after he insisted he would not give a DNA sample.

Obama’s snub Sarkozys
The Obamas turn up in Paris this evening, but have declined a dinner invitation from the couple next door: the Sarkozys.
President Obama’s reluctance to spend more than minimum time with the French leader on his visit for the D-Day anniversary has come as an embarrassment to the Elysée Palace.
America’s First Family will not be dining with President Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni, even though they are staying at the residence of the US Ambassador, yards from the Elysée apartments where the Sarkozys spend their weekends.

The house, a three-bedroom cream-colored residence on a peaceful street, even had yellow and red roses waving merrily from the front lawn. And while the backyard was cramped, there was a nectarine tree, a red swing set and a small gazebo.
Happy to have found a place near her salon in Altadena and close to her fiance in Pasadena, the 31-year-old hairdresser moved her four children from North Hollywood into the one-story charmer on Broach Avenue in Duarte last fall.
Davy never thought about the fact that they would be the only black family on the mostly Latino block — until someone reminded her in a way that still makes her eyes tear and her stomach twist.

The conservative president, quoted by state broadcaster IRIB, made the remark during a speech containing his latest verbal assault on Israel, which the Islamic Republic does not recognize.
